Vision |
Throughout history, women where blessed with their role as nursherer and care giver. We see our endeavor as a small drop in the sea of goodness out there, and hope we that if we put a smile on the face of a person in need, then we have fulfilled what we set out to achieve.

Values |
Equality, respect and responsibility.
Because we are all bare and equal in this modest life, no individual who happens to be less fortunate should be left alone.
It is in our human nature to care for one another and extend a heping hand.

Since its founding in 1993 by Mrs.Sawsan Khayat Al-Moualem, wife of the former Syrian Ambassador to the United States, and a group of dedicated Syrian American women in the greater Washington area, SAWA has succeeded in attracting widespread support. In addition to its National Central office, it has, at present, four state chapters in Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio and Michigan, and expects the establishment of other state branches in the near future.
